Conversations and Navigation
Navigate Nebula's sidebar with Agent DMs and Channels. Start direct conversations with any agent, create topic channels, and track real-time status.
The sidebar is your home base. It's split into two sections: Agents at the top and Channels below. Agents are direct conversations with your AI assistants. Channels are topic-based workspaces you create.
Sidebar layout
Every agent in your workspace has its own row. Click an agent to open a direct message — if you haven't talked to that agent before, a new DM is created automatically.
Your main Nebula DM is always at the top. Below it, agents are sorted by most recent activity. Click the + next to the section header to create a new agent.
Channels are named conversation spaces for topics, projects, or teams. They're listed below the Agents section and sorted by most recent activity (or alphabetically — click the sort toggle). Click + to create a new channel.
Agent DMs vs Channels
A one-on-one conversation with a specific agent. Click any agent in the sidebar to start or resume a DM. Each agent has its own conversation history and context — your Slack Agent DM is separate from your GitHub Agent DM.
A named conversation space where Nebula coordinates multiple agents as needed. Use channels to organize work by project, client, or workflow — for example, a channel for a product launch or a recurring weekly review.
Creating a channel
Status indicators
Agents and channels show real-time status in the sidebar.
A pulsing blue dot means the agent is actively working on a response.
An orange dot means the agent completed a task that needs your review.
A red dot indicates something went wrong during the agent's last run.
A numbered badge shows unread messages in that conversation.
Sorting channels
Channels with the latest activity appear first. New messages automatically push a channel to the top. This is the default.
Channels are sorted A–Z by name. Toggle this with the sort icon in the Channels header. Useful when you have many channels and want to find one quickly.
Navigating between conversations
Each conversation maintains its own history, context, and memory. Nebula's understanding of what you're working on is scoped to the conversation you're in — it won't carry context from one to another. This means you can have separate workstreams running in parallel without them interfering with each other.
Pinning channels
You can pin channels to keep important ones at the top of your list. This is useful for channels you use frequently.
Archiving channels
If you no longer need a channel, you can archive it. Archived channels are hidden from the main list but their history is preserved. You can unarchive a channel at any time.
Chatting with Nebula
Chat with your AI agent in Nebula to ask questions, upload files, and collaborate on tasks through natural conversation — no commands needed.
Sharing Files in Chat
Attach documents, images, data files, and audio to your Nebula conversations — then ask your agent to summarize, analyze, or transcribe them.
