Learn how Nebula Model Credits and Account Balance work, when each is consumed, and where to view usage across models, tools, and automations.
Nebula uses credits for AI usage. You may see two balances in Settings: Account Balance and Nebula Model Credits.
The split keeps your purchased balance flexible while giving Nebula a dedicated balance for the model we recommend most often.
Credit types
Nebula Model Credits are included with subscriptions, referrals, and promotional grants. They are used for the Nebula LLM model, Nebula's recommended model option.
The Nebula LLM model is designed to balance cost and performance automatically, so it is the best default for most users.
Use it when you want Nebula to handle model choice for normal chat, agent work, and automations without pinning a specific provider model.
Account Balance is spend-anywhere credit. It can be used for any model, tools, add-ons, and automations.
Credits you purchase or add with auto top-up go to your Account Balance.
Use Account Balance when you pin a specific model, run tools, or need credits that work across the full platform.
How credits are used
For example, a daily research agent using the Nebula LLM model will use Nebula Model Credits first. A code review agent pinned to a specific third-party model will use Account Balance instead. If an automation combines model work with tool calls, each step follows the same rule.
For most workflows, start with the Nebula LLM model. It is the recommended default because it balances cost and performance automatically.
Where to view credits
Open Settings > Billing to view your balances, buy credits, or manage auto top-up.
Open Settings > Usage to review credit usage over time.
If you need more spend-anywhere credit, use Buy Credits or auto top-up from Billing. Purchased credits are added to Account Balance.
