Devices: the computers your agents work on
Give your agents a computer to work on. Add a cloud device or your own computer to a channel, pick the channel's default device, and manage device approvals.
Devices are the computers your agents work on: a cloud device your workspace runs, or your own computer. Each channel has its own set of devices, and Nebula works on that channel's default device.

Your role doesn't decide whether you can create a cloud device; the workspace's Nebula Credits do. If the balance is empty, Nebula asks for a top-up before it creates one. Current plans are on nebula.gg.
A channel's default device
When Nebula needs a computer in a channel, it uses that channel's default device. As the channel's Devices settings put it: "Nebula uses this Channel's default device. Specialists keep their own device assignments."
The default device carries a Default badge. Every other device in the channel has Set as default, so you can switch in one click. Agents created in the channel start on its default device.
A channel without devices still works, and you can still chat in it. When a task does run on a device, the device's name appears under the task's transcript, so you can see where the work happened.
Add a device to a channel
The new device becomes the channel's default. Your own computer appears in the list once its helper connects.
Tap the gear in the channel's header and scroll to Devices. It lists the channel's devices, with a star on the default. Someone else's computer is greyed out with "runs on its owner's hardware". To change a channel's devices, use the desktop app or ask Nebula in the chat.
Adding your own computer lets agents run commands on it, inside the working folder you choose. It stays private to you unless you add it to a shared channel. Set the folder, reach and permissions in Computer control.
Add a device your workspace already has
To bring an existing device into a channel, ask Nebula in that channel. It can add the device and make it the default in one step.
Nebula, add the Launch cloud device to this channel and make it the default.
Done. Launch cloud device is now in q4-launch and set as the default, and new agents created here will start on it.
An agent's own device
Each specialist agent has its own device assignment, and changing a channel's default doesn't move agents already on its team. The default only decides where Nebula works and where new agents start.
Your own computer is an exception. An agent that runs on your computer is yours alone and answers only in your Nebula DM. To use that agent in a channel, move it to a cloud device. Device actions you've always allowed
When an agent wants to act on a device, a task can stop and ask you first. That card has Approve, Deny and Always allow. Always allow remembers your answer for that device, so you aren't asked again.
To review those answers, open Settings and find Device access ("Device actions you've always allowed."). Each row names a device and the level you allowed (Read, Act or Computer control), and Remove takes it back. For more on approval cards, see Tasks.
