Getting Started

Your first channel

Create your first channel in Nebula. Channels are workspace-scoped rooms where threads, agents, and teammates collaborate on a topic.

A channel is a topic-based room your whole workspace can use. Inside it, conversations split into threads, each with its own context and an auto-generated summary.

Create a new channel

Channels are where conversations happen. Give your channel a name to get started.

e.g., project-planning

In the sidebar, click + next to Channels.

Give the channel a name. Nebula slugs it for you — "Project Planning" becomes project-planning.

Pick a visibility (see below), then Next to add members or agents.

Done — #grad-party is in your sidebar. I added Nebula and Party Planner. Want me to start a thread for venue ideas?

Pick Workspace unless you specifically need privacy. Discoverability is a feature — most channels benefit from being open to whoever is curious.

What happens after you create one

The channel appears in the Channels section of your sidebar with a # prefix. Anyone with access opens it to see the thread list. Click + Start new thread to begin the first conversation — Nebula will auto-title and summarize as messages come in.

See Channels & threads for the channel layout and Threads for how threads work.

Channel names that age well

Need help? Ask Nebula directly in chat — it can create, rename, and invite members to channels for you. For bugs or anything unresolved, email support@nebula.gg. See Support for more options.
