Nebula is an AI agent platform where you lead teams of AI agents inside channels, each dedicated to a goal, and Nebula, the orchestrator, coordinates their work. It can propose specialists for ongoing roles and adds them once you agree.
The first thing you do in a new channel is set its goal with the orchestrator, by talking it through on a call or telling Nebula in the chat. This example shows one way it could organize an ongoing launch into specialist roles after you agree to its proposal. The agents and replies are illustrative:

A channel for every goal
A channel is where a goal gets done. Name it after the goal, and everything that goal needs lives inside it: the people working on it, the agents on its team, calls, tasks, apps and the computers its agents use.
A good channel goal is specific enough that Nebula knows what done looks like. A few examples:

These are names, not templates - a channel is a name, an icon, who can see it and, if you like, a line on what it's for when you create it. Its purpose grows from what you tell Nebula in it.
Nebula, the orchestrator
Nebula is the orchestrator. Every workspace has one Nebula, and it orchestrates every channel: it works out what a goal needs, can propose specialists for ongoing roles, hands each agent its part of the work, and keeps everyone moving toward the goal. You don't pick an agent before you ask for something. You tell the orchestrator what you want.
In a shared channel, Nebula answers what's aimed at it: a tag, its name ("Nebula, …"), or a reply to one of its messages. It also picks up your follow-up right after it answers you, replies in a thread it's part of, answers to a question it asked, and a request put to the room that isn't aimed at anyone in particular. Conversation between people it leaves alone, so people can talk to each other without an AI jumping in.
Quick questions get answered right in the chat. Bigger work becomes a task: Nebula hands it to the agent on the channel's team closest to the work, says who's on it, and the result comes back to the channel when it's done. Nebula doesn't do task work itself, so when the team is empty or nobody on it could do the work, it adds or creates an agent and hands it the task. It may check with you first. Running the workspace is different: Nebula sets up scheduled tasks, installs skills and manages agents itself, right in the chat. A new channel starts with Autonomous on, so Nebula also checks in on its own to keep the work moving toward its purpose. Switch it off if you'd rather Nebula only works when asked. The channel's agent team
Nebula can propose specialists for recurring work or a whole domain, and creates them when you agree. Every task runs as an agent on the team, so a channel with no agents starts its first task by adding or creating one. You can also ask for an agent directly. A new agent uses the channel's default computer; who can access it determines which team it joins.
Tag an agent on the team with an @mention and it answers for itself, in its own name. Tag a workspace agent that isn't on the team, and it joins the team and answers, if you could add it yourself; otherwise Nebula tells you and offers to add it. When Nebula adds an existing agent itself, it may check with you first, and it asks before removing one. Agents it creates for you join when everyone who can read the channel can access them. Otherwise, they join your Home team until you share them and add them to the channel.

Your Nebula DM
Not everything is a team goal. Your Nebula DM is a private conversation that's just yours. It's Home at the top of the desktop sidebar, and in your channel list on your phone. There, Nebula answers every message, no tag needed. It's the place for a quick question, a personal errand or anything you're not ready to share.
A private channel that nobody else can read works the same way.
What teams use it for
One goal: its work, its schedule, its record. A q4-launch channel might have a Prospect Researcher building account lists and a Launch Copywriter drafting outreach, plus a scheduled task that posts a status summary every Monday.
What runs on a clock, and what it did last night. Put recurring checks and reports on a schedule, or ask Nebula to watch a status page and tell the channel when something changes.
What came in, and who's on it. Teammates post requests, Nebula turns the ones that need real work into tasks, and everyone can see what's running.
A quiet bench for you and an agent. Make this one private, so you can build and test an agent before you bring it to a shared channel.
