Apps: build tools for a channel by asking
Create apps in Nebula by describing them. Trackers, dashboards and forms open beside a channel's chat, and you can pin them or add them to another channel.
Apps are small tools Nebula builds for you, such as trackers, dashboards and forms, that open beside a channel's chat. You make one by describing it, and you can add any app in your workspace to another channel.

Create an app by asking
You don't write a spec or set up a project. Say what you want to see and what you want to do with it, and Nebula builds it as a task, so you can follow the build and steer it like any other task.
Ask Nebula in the channel's chat, for example "Nebula, create me an app that…". The build runs as a task in the channel, and you can follow it from the Tasks tab.

To change an app after it's built, ask Nebula — in the channel, or in the task that built it. Describe what's wrong or missing in the words you'd use with a teammate.
What to ask for
The best requests say what the app shows and what people do with it. Here are some to adapt:
A shared list your team updates instead of a spreadsheet nobody opens.
- "Create me an app that tracks launch deliverables by owner and due date, and flags anything overdue."
Numbers you want to watch change instead of asking for a fresh summary every time.
- "Create me an app that charts launch-week signups by day, with a filter by region."
Something teammates fill in without having to prompt an agent themselves.
- "Create me an app that collects beta feedback (name, feature, rating and notes) and lists what's come in."
A model you can play with when the question is "what if".
- "Create me an app that models launch pricing with sliders for price, volume and discount, and shows break-even as they move."
Adding an app, and pinning it
On desktop, two different things put an app in front of you:
Adding puts an app on the channel for everyone in it. The channel's apps are listed under On this channel when you click + at the end of the tab row, and clicking one opens it.
Pinning is your own choice. Only the apps you pin get a tab of their own, shown as an icon, so your tab row stays short. Use the pin button beside an app in the + menu.
Add an app to another channel
An app made for one channel can help in others. Only an admin of the channel can add one.
Manage apps is also where you unpin an app. You can also ask Nebula in the channel to add an app the workspace already has.
Apps on your phone
On mobile, a channel's apps are in its Miniapps tab (the blocks icon). It lists the apps added to that channel. To get a new one, ask Nebula in the channel's chat. To add an app the workspace already has, ask Nebula in the channel or use the desktop app.
